Is Quick Transcribe really free?
Yes! Quick Transcribe is completely free to use. If you find it valuable, you can optionally support the project through our "Buy me a coffee" link to help with server costs and development.
Do I need to register or create an account?
No, you can start using Quick Transcribe right away as a guest, with no account required. Guests are limited to 2 transcriptions per 12 hours though. Creating a free account removes that limit and gives you 60 free credits (up to 59 minutes of transcription) to start.
How many credits does a transcription cost?
Each transcription costs a flat 1 credit request fee, plus 1 credit per minute of audio, rounded to the nearest minute.
What audio & video formats are supported?
Quick Transcribe supports all major audio & video formats including WAV, MP3, MP4, FLAC, WEBM, MPEG, M4A, OPUS, MOV, and more.
How accurate are the transcriptions?
Our transcriptions are powered by OpenAI's Whisper model, which provides industry-leading accuracy. Quality depends on audio clarity, but typically achieves 95%+ accuracy for clear recordings.
What languages are supported?
We support over 100 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi and many more.
Is my data secure?
Yes, your privacy is our priority. Your files are processed securely and automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours. We never store or share your content.
How long does transcription take?
Processing time depends on file length and server load, but most files are transcribed within minutes. Longer files may take proportionally more time.
Can I edit the transcription?
You can copy the transcription text and edit it in any text editor. We also provide download functionality to save the transcription as a text file.
What's the maximum file size?
Currently, we support audio and video files up to 128MB. For larger files, consider compressing the file or splitting it into smaller segments.
